There was something not right with this party from the start. Not many people showed up (probably due to poor promotion). As a result, Doug (the promoter) did not have enough cash to cover the cost of the venue and so, it was shut down early. Sometimes, this happens in the rave scene as in any other business. Ravers might think, or hope, that money should not become enough of an issue to shut the party down. But, as Victor (Vortex owner) put it: "business is business". Let's just hope business stays fun and productive, at least most of the time. Still, no one (including myself) believed that Doug deserved the verbal treatment and accusations he got from Victor. Save the poison for the real enemies, not each other! |
